Secretary of State certified enough “sponsor” signatures (1,000 minimum, 2,000 max; we submitted 1,636)

To gauge minimal support, the initiative process starts with the advocates gathering “sponsorship” signatures. Our team gathered 1,636 signatures in a very short time—during the December holidays and chilly temps!. The Secretary of State certified 1,453 as valid—a terrific “error” rate, which is a great sign for the future broader effort once we receive the permanent petition template.
